Heartbreaker (Nimmerdor x Silvano) is a jumping horse legend and a recognized stud of outstanding breeding value. Heartbreaker was born on April 16, 1989 under the supervision of breeder P.S. Koopmans from Bozun (NL). The father of this bay stallion of the KWPN breed was the famous Nimmerdor (Farn - Ramonaa / Koridon), whom KWPN announced as the stallion of the century. Only during his lifetime he gave as many as 18 recognized sons and 37 recognized grandsons. The dam was Bacarole (Silvano - Orchidee / Uppercut) by Silvano (Le Mexico - Marion / Amor), a showjumping stallion at international level, who won high positions in the World Cup qualifying competition in 1985 - 2nd place in Milan (ITA) , 5. in Brussels (BEL) and 8. in Geneva (SUI). The Heartbreaker is an amazing mix of German and French show jumping lines, but it also has a distinct mix of Thoroughbreds.

 

Heartbreaker's jumping career was gaining momentum. As a 6-year-old, together with Grant Wilson (NZL), he finished 5th at the World Show Jumping Championships for Young Horses. A year later he was already competing under another rider (who turned out to be the one who brought him to GP level) and along with Peter Geerink (NED) was 4th in the 7-year-old class. 1998 was a very successful year - Heartbreaker took 1st place at the Nations Cup CSIO Falsterbo (SWE)! It was then that he was third three times in the Grand Prix competitions in Falsterbo, Geesteren (NED) and Hamburg (GER), and also took second place at the Final Samsung Super League in Donaueschingen (GER). In 2000 he won the 4th place at the CSI-A Grand Prix in London. Of course, these are not all the successes of the stallion who successfully competed in international competitions.

 

Parallel to the sports career, breeding reputation was developing. All these achievements led to the re-presentation of Heartbreaker to the KWPN committee. In 1998 the stallion finally got his license! With time, he was recognized by other unions (SF, BWP, SWB, SI, BAVAR), and at the age of 14 he already had 10 recognized sons and many more offspring who participated in competitions at the international level. The typical features of Heartbreaker - strength, bravery, reflexes, good jumping technique, fighting spirit, caution or ... impulsiveness - are passed on to offspring, which gives a chance to repeat the successes of your father.

• Scuderia 1918 Halifax Van Het Kluizebos (Heartbreaker - Dalida Vd Heffinck / Fetiche Du Pas) - successfully competing under Lorenzo de Luca (ITA)

• Heartbreaker 5 (Heartbreaker - Nafanory / Ramiro Z) - the best descendant of the famous father in Poland, Michał Ziębicki competes.

• Rabanna van Costersveld (Heartbreaker - Holivea Van Costerveld / Randel Z) - dam of Cornet Obolensky, one of the best showjumping studs in recent years

• Vdl. Groep Zidane (Heartbreaker - Colanda / Calando I) - together with Leopold Van Asten (NED) competes in GP competitions

• Cidane (Heartbreaker - Larnike / G. Ramiro Z) - recognized in AES and KWPN, winner of the bronze medal at the 2013 Lanaken World Championships under Kristian Houwen (NED)

• Helios Van De Noordhevel (Heartbreaker - Laruna / Larome) - recognized in AES and BWP, successfully competing under Anna Gray-Ziębicka and Michał Ziębicki

• Halifax van het Kluizebos (Heartbreaker - Dalida van de Heffinck / Fetiche Du Pas) - in 2017 he took 1st place in the jump ranking, starting under Lorenzo De Luca (ITA) and Daniel Deusser (GER).

Breeding merit was officially recognized in 2004 when Heartbreaker was awarded the Keur title. in 2009 he was announced the Preferent, and 6 years later (in 2015) KWPN Horse of the Year. The stallion was also the ambassador of the BWP breed. in 2006, the French journalist Bernard le Courtois compiled a list of the 75 best stallions. The criterion was the results of international jumps and Heartbreaker will win 11th place, which is a huge achievement. In the WBFSH ranking, he has not fallen out of the top of the best stallions in the world for many years. In the current list, it occupies a high 27th position among breeders. So far, he has given 104 recognized sons, of whom as many as 63 take part in competitions of 135-160 cm! As many as 123 of his descendants (male and female) successfully compete at the international level of 155-160 cm, and many times more by the ceiling below.

Mother - Dalida vd Heffinck became world-famous in 2017 when her son Scuderia 1918 Halifax van het Kluizebos was named the world’s best jumper. Together with the Italian top rider Lorenzo de Luca, this exceptional performer stallion dominated the international scene that year winning at 5* level in Paris, Mexico City, Cannes and Miami, coming second at the prestigious 5* GP in Windsor and winning third place at the challenging world championship in Mechelen! He continued his career as the best horse in the world by later also winning the 5* GP in Rome. Today, Halifax is a full-time breeding stallion and although his descendents, such as Monseigneur who is a 1.45m jumper in America and the stallion Nanteuil van T&L (from the mother of Toulon), are still very young they are ready to follow in their father’s footsteps and compete at international level.

Scuderia 1918 Halifax van het Kluizebos’s success story starts with his mother, Dalida vd Heffinck of MoM, who herself comes from a very special and successful sporting family. She is a sister of the successful stallion Upsilon van de Heffinck and the 1.60m jumper Versace van de Heffinck. The damline has dozens of sport horses jumping at the highest level, including Quel Homme vd Heffinck as well as Bentley and Souvenir vd Heffinck.

Dalida vd Heffinck has shown that she is a world-class broodmare who has produced brilliant sport horses in combination with various stallions. Halifax was produced by Dalida vd Heffink x Heartbreaker but his younger brother of Cha-Cha-H from Chacco Blue was already performing exceptionally well at the age of 2! He was approved by the jury at the stallion show in Oldenburg and subsequently sold at auction for € 300,000.
